Cut Your Heating Bill By A Third This Winter

Looking for a quick and easy way to cut your winter heating bills by a third this year? The answer is simple, pick up an electric mattress pad and save yourself money.

Electric mattress pads are very easy and straight-forward to use. Matter fact, they work very similarly to electric blankets. However, an electric blanket should be turned off as soon as you go to sleep, so that you don't burn yourself while you're sleeping. An electric mattress pad on the other hand can be left on at a low temperature while you're sleeping.

So how do you save money on your heating bill? Install the electric mattress pad on each of your beds, turn your home's thermostat down to about 55 degrees before you go to sleep, and relax in a warm bed. The electric mattress pad will keep everything on top of it nice and warm. Best of all, you won't lose heat in the air like an electric blanket. The heat from the mattress is applied directly to you and your comforter will keep the heat locked in.

How to Use Your Electric Mattress Pad

So, as your bedtime approaches, you're going to turn the electric mattress pads on your desired temperature about 15 minutes before you get into bed. Before you get into bed, turn your home's thermostat down to about 60 degrees. This should be warm enough so that your home's pipes don't freeze over and crack. Now hop into your warm, cozy bed and enjoy the warmth.

If you get too warm during the night, simply turn down the heater from your bedside controller.

After you get up in the morning, be sure to turn off the electric mattress pad for the day. There's no need to keep it on if you're aren't going to be going to sleep anytime soon.
